“The first taste of the new set is "Trouble's Lament," and it's an undeniably good look.”
– SPIN

“Trouble’s Lament” is exactly what we want from Tori" – Stereogum

“… one of V’s most beloved artists”  V Magazine

‘”Trouble's Lament" is instantly and recognizably her, with those mellifluous elastic vocals riding high over lithe piano ripples, but here, thanks to delicately applied snare rolls and porch front guitars, the flame-haired songwriter adds a pleasing Americana-lilt.”

For an intimate peek into Tori Amos’ 14th studio record, Unrepentant Geraldines, she will appear for a Rough Trade NYC in-store tomorrow, Tuesday, April 29th at 7pmEST. Teaming up with SPIN Magazine, fans not able to attend will be able to live stream the performance exclusively HERE.

This is not a ticketed event. For entry, fans can pre–order the new Tori Amos album Unrepentant Geraldines at Rough Trade NYC starting at 9AM on April 29th to receive one wristband good for access to a Tori Amos autograph signing and an intimate performance starting at 7pm that evening. Space is limited.

Unrepentant Geraldines is a return to the inspiring and personal music that Amos is known for the world over.  It is pop/rock in both content and feel, and one step further in the evolution of one of the most successful and influential artists of her generation. “Trouble’s Lament” is an eerie Southern blues song in which Amos’s matchless voice conjures up images of how the “flames from Satan’s tongue are charged and licking at her heels…”

She explains, “After 2009 I walked into three records that are sort of a period of writing that was a different stylistic choice. I needed to walk away from contemporary songwriting. I needed to do something different as a writer.” But those three diverse album projects  (Midwinter Graces, Night of Hunters, Gold Dust)  followed by her first full-bore theatrical project (The Light Princess)  alchemized something anew within. Out of the flux of ambition and distraction and imagination came Amos’ fourteenth studio album, Unrepentant Geraldines.  It’s an album on which Amos once more zeroes in on the writing of brightly melodic, deftly evocative chamber-pop.

Tori Amos will tour though the summer in support of Unrepentant Geraldines, released May 13th via Mercury Classics/Universal Music Classics.
