MISS MAY I will release their ground-breaking new full-length album, Rise Of The Lion, in North America on April 29, 2014 via Rise Records (April 28 in the UK, April 25 in Australia). Showing no signs of slowing down, the band has released a brand new single, ‘Echoes’, and a music video to accompany the song. Check out the track and music video at www.MMIRiseOfTheLion.com now!
Frontman Levi Benton states, “‘Echoes’ as a song means a lot to us and is filled with sadness. I feel this video really expresses the darkness and sorrow losing a loved one has on you.”
Bassist and backing vocalist Ryan Neff adds, “The song ‘Echoes’ is a very different track compared to the rest of the record, and everything else we've written, which makes it one of my favorites on the record. I'm stoked for everyone to hear this new tune!”
Rise Of The Lion is MISS MAY I’s fourth album and the first to be produced by the legendary Terry Date (Pantera, Deftones, White Zombie, Bring Me The Horizon). The countless fan letters the band has received over the years are the inspiration for the tracks on Rise Of The Lion, and each track is written from the perspective of those fans or responses to them. You can pre-order Rise Of The Lion in digital, physical CD, and vinyl versions, as well as special pre-order packages including exclusive Rise Of The Lion shirts, necklaces, posters, and more, via www.MMIRiseOfTheLion.com.
MISS MAY I owned the stage at the 2012 Vans Warped Tour and Alternative Press Tour, but they were only getting started! That’s right – the band has headbanged their way to the heavier side of summer festival touring, solidifying a spot on the COLDCOCK American Herbal Flavored Whiskey Second Stage at the 2014 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival! MISS MAY I will be joining the likes of multi-platinum headliners Avenged Sevenfold, as well as Korn, Asking Alexandria, Trivium, Cannibal Corpse, Suicide Silence, Mushroomhead, Texas Hippie Coalition, King 810, Body Count featuring Ice-T, Upon A Burning Body, Veil of Maya, Darkest Hour, Emmure, Ill Nino, Wretched, Islander, and Erimha. For more details visit www.rockstarmayhemfest.com and see below for a full listing of dates that MISS MAY I will be performing on.
Ryan says, “The Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival is a tour MISS MAY I has been shooting for the last few years, and it's awesome to finally earn a slot!”
“We have always wanted to be a part of the summer’s heaviest music festival. Now we finally are, and we're ready for sweat, sunburn and headbangs,” adds Levi.
In addition to performing at the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, MISS MAY I will head out on a brief headline tour of the United States this April and May, with support from For The Fallen Dreams. MISS MAY I’s “Up Close and Personal” Tour will stop in eight cities, including a closer in their home state of Ohio at Rock On The Range. After the resounding underground success of their debut full-length release Monument, MISS MAY I took a step beyond the metalcore world they had grown up in with the release of their album At Heart in 2012. The record, produced by renowned record producer Machine (Lamb Of God), proved to be one of the strongest and most surprising metal records of the last few years, spawning huge singles in the songs ‘Hey Mister’ and ‘Day By Day’. Entering the Billboard Top 200 charts in its first week at #32, At Heart saw the band embrace a more mainstream metal approach to their music. During their 2012 Vans Warped Tour main stage onslaught, the At Heart campaign made massive leaps, seeing MISS MAY I nominated for ‘Best New Talent’ award at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards, as well as headlining the Alternative Press 2012 Tour, and picking up support at Active Rock Radio for the first time. On the live side, the band was hand-picked for tours with the likes of Five Finger Death Punch, Killswitch Engage and Bullet For My Valentine.
