Early love for Tele Novella:
"...Tele Novella, a psych-pop unit that carefully coats its '60s-style harmonies in layers of fuzz." SPIN
"...we learned that Austin indie outfit Tele Novella was also comprised of members of Voxtrot and Agent Ribbons, and make gorgeous hazy pysch pop to boot? Yeah, consider us sold." NYLON
"The group is pretty sensational, creating some of the best pop music to come out of city, and dare I say, the world as a whole." Austin Town Hall
"The delightful 60s pop sheen and head-bobbing, calliope-like rhythm lure the listener into a strange magical world, but by the end the merry-go-round starts to spin as the band slowly, and subtly, brings the full flower of the arrangement to bear." KUTX making "Don't Be A Stranger" their Song Of The Day
"...forges together the members vintage records together in one stylistic heap, for a real cool attitude sound." IMPOSE
"Along with members of Agent Ribbons, the Austin-based group craft charming indie-pop — not unlike Voxtrot’s sunny 2007 self-titled LP — with an added hint of ’60s girl group pep." Consequence Of Sound
Tele Novella is a fresh strain of indie psych-pop out of Austin, TX with members of Voxtrot and Agent Ribbons. Their collaboration was forged in the white-hot embers of inspired happy accidents, furnishing an onslaught of rapid-fire creative output that will all be released in the vinyl 45 format consecutively over the next several months.
Sturdy, uncrushable melodies and thoughtful lyrics lay the pavement in these songs, but it’s the subtle vocal harmonies embroidered throughout each piece that really catch your ear. The “Trouble In Paradise” 7″ follows quickly on the heels of their much loved debut 7″, “Don’t Be A Stranger”!
