French born and Berlin-based Strip Steve released his first full-length debut album Micro Mega worldwide via Boysnoize Records on July 16. While the common pattern through Micro Mega is clearly his own sense of rhythm and melody, his distinctive rich, sweet and mellow backbone, we discover a whole new variety of styles and colors that might have stayed unsuspected from him so far, showing us deeper into the corners of his creative mind.

Micro Mega IS the idea that everything from the microscopic scale to the infinitely large, is designed from a similar pattern. A fractalist vision of what surrounds us, a way of seeing variety and chaos as part of one. A peaceful and unitive idea all in all...

This week, Strip Steve curated a Summer-themed ‘Hazed & Confuzed” mixtape for Dazed and Confused which ranges tracks from Big Freedia to Bootz Durango to Scissor Sisters.  After a series of successful shows in LA (Dim Mak Studios), Chicago (Wavefront Festival), and NYC (Le Bain), Strip Steve returns to NYCon September 2 for Electric Zoo w/ Boys Noize & Djedjotronic.

The first single which features lucid, dream-pop band Puro Instinct, young protégées of living legend Ariel Pink, breaks away from Strip Steve’s more dance floor like focused tunes previously seen in “Stomp/Mother Circuit”(BNR078). The track encapsulates musical influences from Beach Boys, Chic, and modern disco-like Amplified Orchestra foreshadowing the debut album as a more psych-noir disco pop trip.
