SAMOTHRACE: Decimate Your Ears To The New Album

As Seattle's SAMOTHRACE prepare to drop their anticipated new album Reverence To Stone next week via 20 Buck Spin, today the crushing two-track beast is streaming via Pitchfork. Submerge yourself in thirty-five minutes of pummeling slow-motion doom metal precision RIGHT HERE.

SAMOTHRACE have also recently unveiled two forthcoming U.S. tours in support of Reverence To Stone for the Summer months, including a West Coast headlining tour in August and a trek to the eastern half of the country alongside Pallbearer and Royal Thunder in September, with more shows to be announced in the coming days.

Reverence To Stone was recorded at Soundhouse Studios in the band's hometown of Seattle with producer Brandon Fitzsimmons (ex-Wormwood) at the turn of the year, then mastered at Earhammer by Greg Wilkinson (Brainoil, Graves At Sea). The LP's two extensive tracks engulf nearly thirty-five minutes, presenting the unit's revered, multi-faceted doom at its most expansive to date. The album's beautiful cover art was painted by hardcore/punk musician and artist Moses Saarni. Orders for the digipak CD and LP formats of Reverence To Stone can be placed now VIA 20 BUCK SPIN.

"...the second full-length from Seattle quartet Samothrace for 20 Buck Spin comprises only two tracks, but they're diverse and dynamic enough to prove that the breadth of doom is wider than a stylistic rut." - Pitchfork

"There is emotional comfort to be found in mutual despair, and there is no doubt that Reverence To Stone is a masterwork of shared woe. 4/5" - About.com

"A vital, forward-thinking entity in the ever-backwards and retrograde world of sludge, Samothrace are an absolute treasure. 8/10" - Blistering

"While there are a lot of bands working with a similar aesthetic palette, nobody sounds like Samothrace." - RVA Mag
