Montreal's Men Without Hats will soon be
taking their timeless performance back on the road in support of their new
album Love In The Age of War (out now on Cobraside
Records). During 2011's “Dance If You Want” tour, Men Without Hats
opened every show with their single “This War.” Today, they are sharing the
single, which just premiered on AOL's Spinner, in honor of their upcoming
tour dates. The track is an uplifting blend of the band's distinguished
synthpop sound, accentuated by Ivan's distinctive baritone croon.
Love In The Age of War marked the band's their
first album release in albums 10 years and features 10 original songs written
by Ivan Doroschuk. Produced by Dave “Rave” Ogilvie (Skinny
Puppy, Marilyn Manson), Love In The Age of War features
charismatic front man Ivan (voice & electronics), his brother Colin
Doroschuk (vocals), as well asLou Dawson (vocals &
live keyboards), and James Love (guitars). In 2011, Men
Without Hats soared back into the scene with their breakout performance at
SXSW, followed by an extensive, well-received North American tour.
Since forming in the late 70's, the band released six studio
albums – having songs featured on hit TV series such as Glee, The Simpsons,
Futurama and Family Guy. Their 1980's hit “The Safety Dance” reached Top 10 in
the US, the UK and 25 other countries around the world. Their 1987 hit “Pop
Goes The World” reached the top 20 in the US and Canada. In 1983, they picked
up a Grammy nomination for Best group.
