Sole Preps "Hello Cruel World" releases single and more!

"This has been an absolutely HUGE month for me. Maybe the biggest month in my life next to when I got married. Since going DIY I have found myself continually experimenting with new techniques of getting my art out there, and I feel things are really starting to come together. Major shouts out to Ceschi Ramos, Fake Four, and Terrorbird.



1.) On Hello Cruel World, Sole aka Tim Holland returns with the Skyrider Band for his first full length since the split with Anticon, and his third album with the Skyrider Band production. While much was made of Sole leaving the empire he helped create in Anticon, it's safe to say that there's a new found confidence and focus not seen since Selling Live Water and Bottle of Humans. Hello Cruel World sees Sole's promotion within the ranks of underground hip hop from infantryman to general and he's assembled an army of the most exciting voices in indie culture to be a part of the new record; recruiting everyone from Xiu Xiu, Lil B, Pictureplane, Sage Francis, Ceschi and more to create a stunning tapestry that is a new high water mark in Sole's creative output. 3.) MBF 5
Due to the tremendous response to the digital version I have decided to release MBF5 in CD form. The new version has 5 new tracks on it. I also produced a mansbestfriend video about my life as a gamer and nerd history called "The Deadliest Game" which was recently featured on the highly influential kotaku blog as well as the Mishkanyc blog. People are saying this is my best mansbestfriend record and I agree. 4.) Small Shirt Fire Sale

I dont know what is wrong with me, but I seem to always have a tremendous overstock of small shirts. Well, my silkscreener recently went out of business so all these shirts are going out of print. I'm trying to clean out my closet so im selling off the rest of these small shirts at $7.99 a piece until they have disappeared completely. Supplies are very limited, check em out here.

5.) New monthly event in Denver.

I know its premature to announce, but I might as well. Egadz, John from skyrider and pictureplane and I are launching a monthly in Denver. It's name is yet announced, but the first one will feature performances from K THE I(instrumental set), pictureplane, a solo set by myself and more TBA. The first one is june 16th at the Hi- Dive and a low price of $8 at the door. The second one will be the official release party for the sole and skyrider band Hello Cruel World album. The goal is to bring decent out of town electronic, experimental and even hip hop in once a month. Please check soleone.org for more info.

6.) After a couple years of laying relatively low we are hitting Planet Earth with a vengeance again. We'll be doing an extensive North American Tour from August-September and hitting europe in October/November. We've recently teamed up with Madison House for US bookings, so anyone interested in setting something up hit up booking@soleone.org .
