OBLITERATIONS: Poison Everything Out Now; West Coast North American Tour With Baptists & Obliterations Begins Tonight

Poison Everything, the debut full-length from destructive Southern California hardcore punks,OBLITERATIONS, is out now on Southern Lord, and in celebration of its release, the band will take to the streets on a massive tour run through the rest of the year, beginning with their West Coast North American tour, tonight.

This evening, October 15th, OBLITERATIONS will join Goatsnake, Excel, Xibalba, Baptists and Torch Runner for a Southern Lord showcase in Los Angeles, which kicks off OBLITERATIONS' two-week North American tour with labelmates Baptists and Torch Runner, as all three acts celebrate their new LPs released by the label this month. Even more tours and live actions from the band will continue to be announced over the coming weeks as the band dominates city after city in support ofPoison Everything.

Journalists everywhere are freaking out about the ravenous Poison Everything, including Vice Magazine's music channel, Noisey, offering, "As soon as that infamous d-beat kicks in, you're transported back to classics like Never Again and Hear Nothing, See Nothing, Say Nothing. Then the vocals start up and you're assault with a vicious modern take on the classic '80s sound. Perfect for old spike belt-wearing punks who haven't bought any new records since the last time Aus-Rotten put out an album. Or for the hardcore kids who like to pay homage to the greats." Pitchfork issues in part, "on their debut album Poison Everything, they've managed the commendable feat of refurbishing (or rather, defurbishing) the mud-caked frameworks of Crass and Nausea," and AllMusic claims, "there's something viscerally exciting about the album, which blends equal parts teeth-grinding speed with unfiltered aggression, resulting in an intoxicating blend of old-school, circle pit-inducing punk fury." Additionally, OBLITERATIONS was just featured in Rolling Stone Magazine's October installment of 10 Artists You Need To know, with a brief interrogation of the band more; check it out RIGHT HERE.

Unifying current and ex-members of Black Mountain, Saviours and Night Horse, OBLITERATIONSrecorded Poison Everything with producer Chris Owens (Lords, Coliseum, Young Widows) at Dave Grohl's Studio 606 in only three days, after which it was mixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge, High On Fire, Black Breath) at God City Studio, and mastered by Brad Boatright (Tragedy, Integrity, Sleep) at Audiosiege. Poison Everything drops nearly a half-hour of OBLITERATIONS' grating, hardcore punk charged by a seemingly bottomless wealth of antagonistic energy; prime fodder for fans of The Stooges, MC5, Laughing Hyenas, Black Flag and Poison Idea.
