RAW BLOW Premieres New Song "Don't Try" * New EP "Slow Choke" Out October 28th on Social Cancer Records

Stream "Don't Try" from Raw Blow exclusively @ No Clean Singing!

"Slow Choke fuses together clanging guitars, rambunctious drumming, poppy melodies, punk rhythms, and a few sharp, math turns that you don’t see coming. While recognizably played by the same band, the songs on Slow Choke are each distinctively different. Of all of them, “Don’t Try” probably weaves all the band’s musical strands together most completely - and does it in about one and a third minutes." -NO CLEAN SINGING

RAW BLOW is the real deal. Equal parts Dag Nasty and the most pummeling aspects of Propagandhi, with a little Bad Religion and non-sucky screamo thrown in for good measure, these guys are the epitome of punk rock. Brutal, ferocious and even a little bit scary,RAW BLOW is a wake up call to the entire punk community.

In support of their upcoming "SLOW CHOKE" EP out October 28th on SOCIAL CANCER RECORDS, the band has just premiered the latest track from their forthcoming release exclusively at NO CLEAN SINGING. Click the link above to listen and get pulverized by the band's relentless assault on the senses.

About Raw Blow:

The members of Raw Blow have been slugging it out in Boston basements and bars for 10 plus years in bands like Now Denial, Furnace, Bravo Fucking Bravo, and Luau. The sum of their parts is a sonic quilt stitched together from their former acts. Loud, anxious and aggressive guitars are interwoven with grungy impassioned vocal harmonies and No Idea Records style dirt pop. Blast beats force mathy melodies to stop on a dime, twisting, turning, and wriggling under the grit. Drums snap back and forth, anticipating the emotional swings of the bands' three singers who trade off belting gravelly shouts, throat shredding screams and sudden moments of vocal clarity.

Lyrics on the new EP “Slow Choke” often deal with isolation and stagnation - an inability to move forward, the feeling of dragging around ghosts from the past. Raw Blow as a band, however, represent a fresh start and giant leap of faith for it’s members. Both in the vulnerability of it’s themes and the willingness to, at times, trade in the security blanket of volume and noise for dynamics and emotional weight. This is the sound of a chances being taken. For fans of: Cave In, Dag Nasty, Planes Mistaken for Stars, Majority Rule, Propagandhi, Braid. - Jonah Livingston (Ramming Speed)
