GANGLION REEF OUT AUGUST 26TH ON GOD? RECORDS | TOUR KICKS OFF SEPTEMBER 3RD

Wand, the Los Angeles-based four-piece comprised of Cory Hanson (vocals, guitar, synth), Evan Burrows(drums), Daniel Martens (guitar), and Lee Landey (bass), will release their debut album, Ganglion Reef, next week via God? Records. If previously shared tracks, "Broken Candle" and "Flying Golem" are any indication, Wand bring a sun-fried sensation to their tripped-over pop songs on this strong debut. Their musical thoughts and actions are conducted through a surreally malformed nerve cluster that makes Wand's music sound and feel simultaneously soft and hard, light and heavy. It's a musical trip, with fun and fear taking equal parts! Stream the album in its entirety throughout the next week via Hype Machine and catch Wand throughout North America beginning September 3rd.

"if lead track 'Flying Golem' - a supremely melodic number laced with fuzz-drenced '60s riffs - is anything to go by, they could even usurp Tame Impala's colourful throne while they're at it." - NME [Buzz Band of the Week]

"There's plenty of fuzz here, and more than a few of those crunchy breakdowns their tourmate/label head seems to favor but over the course of the record it becomes apparent that the band are reaching for more cosmic heights; and an infusion of acoustic touches, synth float and gently faded production lodges this somewhere between Morgan Delt and Tame Impala on a shoestring territory." - Raven Sings The Blues

"Ganglion Reef is a teeming, dream-steeped smear of songs that shines with the bent light of a cracked prism. . . ['Broken Candle'] pounds with garage-rock power, even as it lulls the listener to some dark corner of melody and melancholy."
The A.V. Club

"A ganglion is a cluster of nerve cells, and true to the album name, Wand's music sends a shock directly towards the nervous system. . . Though Wand skews more to the psych side of the divide, there's a sweetness buried beneath the distortion."
- KUTX [Song of the Day]

"Listen for the Kinks-inspired melodies and stay for the thundering lead guitars." - Consequence of Sound
