“…an angelic confessional”– Elmore Magazine

Lush without being pompous, subtle without being obtuse, and really rather lovely.” - The Guardian

“…like a modern day The The” - Mojo

He has the knack of turning what are no doubt everyday trials into songs with an epic thrust” - Clash Magazine

A surprising discovery, Satellites’ second record is stuffed with complex motifs and effects, cleverly deployed with a rich vocal for an invigorating, expansive listen.” – Vinyl Today

PopMatters premiered three complex remixes of art-folk artist Satellites’ stunning track, ‘Wasteland’. The set of remixes includes a remix from NinjaTune’s The Invisible. Explaining to PopMatters,  “These versions of ‘Wasteland’ are more apocalyptic and baron than the original. But they still make me want to dance. The Invisible remix is all about building melodic tension. The Clas Tuuth remix strips the production right back to something beautifully skeletal. And the Vestrrbother remix turns up and stretches the beats from the original into an epic bit of Balaeric.”

Satellites is actually writer, singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer Johnny Vic, an Englishman living in Copenhagen, who has spent most of his professional life touring the world as a band member and musical director for other more famous artists.

He has released his first two full lengths, 01 and 02, in his native England. After their releases they gained massive momentum; becoming blogger gold in the UK, word of mouth successes that received write-ups from The Guardian,Mojo, and Clash.

This year, Vic is finally making his long-awaited jump across the pond, releasing 02 for an American audience. The American release will be available as a “producer’s cut,” featuring four more tracks than its UK counterpart. It will be available in the states on October 7th.

live show that is not to be missed, Satellites will be playing dates in both New York and LA next month.

LA: Sept 10 @ Hotel Café,
NYC: Sept 23 @ Rockwood Music Hall
