Upcoming KEXP, KINK & KXLU Performances

Over the past few years, Pete Molinari has established himself as one of the UK's most exciting musical talents. His previous album, A Train Bound For Glory, earned Pete a nomination for Best Newcomer at the MOJO Awardsalong with an appearance on BBC's Later With Jools Holland. His already reaped impressive acclaim from a who’s who of musical legends including Bruce Springsteen, Ray Davies and Yoko Ono with whom he appeared on stage with last summer when she curated the 2013 Meltdown Festival at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

He has now made a major leap forward as an artist with his new album Theosophy, released on Clarksville Records/INgrooves here in the US. The 13-track album, featuring both Dan Auerbach and Barrie Cadogan (Primal Scream), was primarily recorded at Humbug Studios on the Isle of Wight and mixed at Full Mongrel in Wales. Produced by Boe Weaver with additional production & mix from Andrew Weatherall, Tchad Blake and Liam Watson, Theosophy pushes lots of musical boundaries from the start; and with the musical allies he assembled for this project, Molinari was able to explore new creative fields for himself.

Molinari’s influences are wide ranging from Billie Holliday to Jack Kerouac to John Coltrane and even Leadbelly. However, the true inspiration for Theosophy came from an unexpected source: The Theosophical Society - an organization formed in 1875 “to promote an understanding of the Esoteric Teachings” and whose interest spans science, mysticism, religion and the arts.

Molinari has just announced the first set of US tour dates in support of the album including performances at Jack White’s Third Man Store during the Americana Fest in Nashville along with on air performances at KEXPKINK and KXLU.
