Vindata's Debut EP '...For One To Follow' Out Now on Symbols Recordings; Premieres in Billboard & SPIN

"As Vindata, these two Los Angelenos slam garage into soul, hip-hop into house, and astral electronica into the heavier strains pioneered overseas..." — SPIN.com

Los Angeles-based duo Vindata, comprised of Branden Ratcliff and Jared Poythress, make their debut with ‘...For One To Follow,’ a four-track EP out now on Symbols Recordings with premieres in Billboard, SPIN and This Song Is Sick. Displaying what Billboard calls an “edge of eclectic, genre-blending urbanity,” ‘...For One To Follow’ features Vindata’s influences from a background in ‘90s hip-hop and R&B, and a love for house and experimental music, all combined to redraw the borders that divide sound.

‘...For One To Follow’ kicks off with “All I Really Need,” featuring the soulful voice of London’s Kenzie May, matched with catchy percussion and vocal rhythms. “Bad Dreams” is an innovative club jam that will have everyone checking their phones. “Recognize” is filled with sublime low-end, rapid-fire kicks and vocal edits, leading up into a big halftime switch up. Finally, "Exposé" wraps up the EP with an upbeat club tune perfect for upcoming festival season sets.

‘90s gospel, R&B, and hip-hop were extremely instrumental in our upbringing. We also dabbled in the more commercial house records that were out then,” Vindata’s Jared Poythress tells Billboard. “Groups like A Tribe Called Quest and Tony! Toni! Toné! definitely struck a chord with us. Not to mention our favorite producers Timbaland and The Neptunes emerged out of the ‘90s.

Vindata's full-throttle performances and unparalleled production has led them to radio play on BBC Radio 1, performing at TomorrowWorld 2013, and support by veteran artists like Skream and Benga, DJ Wonder on Sirius XM Radio for Fools Gold, Symbols label boss Kastle, and many more. Keep an ear out for more from this dynamic pair as they continue to redefine the future of electronic music in 2014.

Catch Vindata's first performance of the year at the Symbols showcase at SOUND Nightclub in Hollywood on Thursday, March 6 with Kastle featuring Ayah Marar, Sweater Beats, and Lindsay Lowend. Tickets are available at wantickets.com.
