"Silverleaf" via Surviving The Golden Age

"Reminiscent of when John Cale first started experimenting with classical, the track is subdued instrumental mood music where Brooks’ piano is accompanied by light strings."
-Surviving The Golden Age

After recording and touring with countless venerable acts over the last decade (Thursday, Colour Revolt, Unwed Sailor and Bear Colony to name a few), Brooks Tipton has emerged from behind the keys to take the forefront in his solo project Glass Wands. Don’t expect the pummeling rock influences of his former bands, however. Instead, the thirteen tracks of Tipton’s debut take a moodier route, and perfectly showcase his gift for composition and grandeur.

Tipton and drummer Daniel Davison (Norma Jean, Underoath) are working together on an elaborate stage production for the live Glass Wands performances, which are expected in late 2014.

In addition to all of the above mentioned bands, Brooks is also the piano/keys player for the Alabama duo The Secret SistersT-Bone Burnett is the producer for the Secret Sisters 1st full-length and their upcoming followup due in the late spring of 2014 on Universal Republic.

The Secret Sisters have toured/written with Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Iron & Wine, Levon Helm, Ray LaMontagne, Paul Simon, Jack White and more.

Brooks will be Splitting his time between The Secret Sisters and doing Glass Wands tours/performances. He recruited long time friend and fellow musician Chase Pagan to record the Glass Wands album. Pagan and Tipton began their careers at a young age working with producer Ross Robinson and drummer Stephen Perkins (Janes Addiction) for Pagan’s debut release on Geffen Records.

Brooks is a collector of oddities and antiques and is always scouting for treasures while traveling. A lot of the imagery that will be tied together with the album release is based on Brook’s fascination with the mystical side of nature. Brooks has directed several short promo films for the release with film maker Michael Inscoe. You can view these films on instagramwww.instagram.com/boarhoof
