ABJECT! announces break up, final show

N.Y. hardcore punk act, ABJECT!, has officially announced its break up after a three-year run. The band will play its final show tomorrow night at Grand Victory in Brooklyn, N.Y.

"For me, ABJECT! was like a trip to Vegas with the boys where everything broke right," said vocalist Jamie "Hamma." "As far as I'm concerned, we won big and we were playing with house money - one of those unforgettable trips where everything worked out. Hell, we even got arrested and locked up together and turned it into a big plus!

"Like all vacations, the time came to go home. We were way ahead and I would've liked to see how much further we could've gone, but it was time to go home; jobs, wives, etc. were waiting. The flight home wasn't comfortable, but that can't take away from an unforgettable run full of great memories."

The band will appear on Eastvillageradio.com's 'Black N Blue Takeover' show on Tuesday, April 1 at 8 PM EDT to discuss the break up, its legacy and more. For more information, and to listen live, head over to: http://www.eastvillageradio.com/shows/blackandbluetakeover/.

ABJECT! released its sophomore full-length, Ugly on the Inside, earlier this week via Dead City Records. Ugly on the Inside can be purchased now via iTunes at:https://itunes.apple.com/il/album/ugly-on-the-inside/id844855659 or on the Dead City webstore at: http://www.deadcitymerch.com. An Ugly on the Inside teaser video can be streamed on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0LpLqiOMy8.

A frenzy of heavy fast hardcore and furious riffs, the 12-song Ugly on the Inside can be considered the band's 'coming of age' collection following the release of its debut LP, Try Again, and '39 Hours In Bronx Central Booking' EP.

Commented vocalist, Jamie "Hamma":

"I have been on the N.Y.H.C. scene for almost 20 years, and I've played in bands for the last 14.  I can say, without question, this is the best recording I've ever been a part of. I am proud of what we have been able to accomplish with this relevant, thought-provoking, ass-kicking hardcore punk! The subject matter on this album is very current, but it's also timeless N.Y.H.C.! If you've ever been into hardcore punk and know what it's about, you will not be disappointed by this release!"

Ugly on the Inside was engineered and produced by Johnny Kray from the legendary punk band, The Krays.

ABJECT! started out in March of 2011 with dedicated veterans of the New York and Washington D.C. hardcore punk scenes. Built on a desire to speak out against everyday struggles, personal and worldwide alike, they also came together as friends to escape from those same struggles and make some intense sounding hardcore music in the process.

With countless N.Y. shows and East Coast tours, ABJECT! built up a loyal following in the underground while also giving back to the scene with the popular "Abject Deal" video series. This series highlights the state of the world, the state of the punk scene and includes many high profile musician interviews.

While ABJECT! might be expressing angst and rage, as vocalist Jamie "Hamma" states, "You gotta vent, you gotta be aware of what's going on in your world, but without fun, without making the most of it, life just ain't worth living."
