Today, Los Angeles rockers, SASQUATCH, unveil their first official video ever for the track "Smoke Signal." Produced and directed by Cesar Rodriguez Bautista, VFX artist at WETA digital in New Zealand (Peter Jackson's digital visual FX company), the visually stunning clip was shot entirely in black and white using Super 8mm giving it the old-school classic movie feel.
Elaborates the band: "Scott Baxter, a fellow colleague of Cesar's at WETA, approached us about doing a video. They brought us an idea, we loved the concept, and the team ran with it. They even decided on the song. 'Smoke Signal' won the prizefight. We sat back in our virtual lawn chair and six months later they delivered us the magic. It turned out fanfuckingtastic. Mucho props to Cesar, his cast and crew for nailing it on the first lap."
Behind the Scenes: The house found to shoot in was built in the 1800s on top of a hill and has not been updated in over 100 years. It is located in Wellington, New Zealand. It was full of junk for the past 60 years to the ceilings from a 95 year old hoarder who lived there. He had so much junk that he filled the whole house and guest house, and ended up living in a tin shed on a cot until he died a few months ago. Not willing to part with his hoarding, he ended up in the cold until his final days. Which gives the property a whole new level of eeriness. The new owner, an artist, cleared the house out and we got to shoot in it before any renovations had taken place. It still looks untouched from 100 years ago, which fit perfect for this 8mm project of a scene from the olden days. The night of the shoot was 42 degrees, there was no heat, and the only lighting came from an extension cord plugged into another building on the property. Given the weather conditions, it took a strong actress to wear a wedding dress during the shoot."
In related news, the official vinyl release of IV will be coming out on March 21st, 2014 on Small Stone/Cargo Records Germany. This LP release is exclusive to Europe and will be available at the band's confirmed shows in April and May. Relays team SASQUATCH, "Hello Europe! We are returning to rekindle our love affair of your continent in t-minus four weeks. This round we are coming over with our Siamese bros, the Ultra Electric Mega Galactic (featuring Ed Mundell from Monster Magnet, Atomic Bitchwax). We are joined at the hip. Literally -- we share the same stick basher. This is UEMG's first time playing overseas, so be sure to show them a good time. Treat them to a strudel or a nice pasta dinner. Check out the dates below and see if we will be drifting into a city near you."

IV was released via Small Stone Recordings last Fall. Drawing influence from '70s metal, rock, and psychedelia, SASQUATCH falls somewhere between an amalgamation of Black Sabbath, old Soundgarden, Deliverance-era Corrosion of Conformity, Mountain, and a bastardized version of Grand Funk Railroad. Their songwriting approach is clear; keep the focus on the hook.

"...one of the world's premiere hard rock/stoner acts and IV is yet another essential cut in their catalog, monitoring their constant progress 4/5." - Sputnik
"The threesome of SASQUATCH each demonstrate the highest levels of musicianship and craft on this album, especially in service of low tuned and slow burning musical intensity." -- HeavyPlanet
