Popcaan shares new music video + Announces debut LP via Mixpak

Popcaan's much anticipated debut album - executive produced by Dre Skull - will be dropping on
Mixpak in the Summer of 2014, and we're proud to release "Everything Nice" as the first single from the record. The young Jamaican lays his trademark catchy melodies and controlled flow over a minimal riddim produced by Dubbel Dutch that lies somewhere between dancehall and hip hop. Delivering a reflective and casually nostalgic track on the balance of working hard and holding a meds, the song is dedicated to his fans and their struggles. As Poppy whiles his worries away, the track eventually melts with the vocal, leaving a bittersweet blissfulness.

Now an official video accompanies the track, shot by one of the island's finest filmmakers Jay
Will. Letting Popcaan and the song stand front and center, the video provides a strong portrait of
the character and emotion behind the track. Poppy is joined in the video by some of his close
friends and crew, as well as supporters and icons Gyptian, Jah Cure, Mavado and Ace Hood, who
all appear for cameos.

"Everything Nice" sets the tone for the LP, in name and nature. This is the first of a new palette of
sounds and songs that carry Popcaan's next chapter.

About Popcaan:

Young Jamaican MC Popcaan burst onto the scene in 2010 on the biggest dancehall tune of the
year, 'Clarks'. As Vybz Kartel's protege, the 23 year-old quickly proved himself as one of the most
talented upandcoming vocalists in the genre, lending his distinctive voice to an arsenal of
bashment hits, from ghetto laments like "The System" and "Dream" to summer smashes "Ravin"
and "Party Shot", and not forgetting gallis anthem "Only Man She Want".

After a string of big records in 2011, Popcaan became the first dancehall artist since Sean Paul to
have his track playlisted on the BBC and was tipped as one of their 'Hot 20 for 2012'. He joined
Mixpak that year, with his first collaborative single with Dre Skull, 'Get Gyal Easy', followed by his
cut on the Kling Klang riddim, 'So We Do It', as well as 'The System' on the Loudspeaker Riddim.

He's since piled up tens of millions of YouTube plays, a Billboard Hot 100 hit and high profile
collaborations with Snoop, Pusha T, and Busta Rhymes.

In 2014 he will release his debut album on Mixpak, executive produced by Dre Skull and featuring
additional productions from Dubbel Dutch, Anju Blaxx, Jamie YVP and Adde. The first single,
'Everything Nice', is out now.
