Pattern Is Movement shares new track and announces SXSW shows, on tour now with Yellow Ostrich

Pattern Is Movement have shared another peek into their new self-titled full-length, out April 1 on Hometapes. "Climb To Me," streaming at Stereogum right now, is a triumphant call to action, marking the Philadelphia duo's fourth album and their first since 2008's critically-acclaimed All Together. It's been a long inhale -- and the exhale began last night with the beginning of Pattern Is Movement's nationwide tour with Yellow Ostrich. The road will take the band to SXSW, where they will play the  Hometapes Showcase and more (dates below).

Pattern Is Movement is available for pre-order today from Hometapes on limited edition clear + blue splatter vinyl. In addition to standard LP, CD, and Digital pre-order options, a deluxe pre-order package is available and includes Pattern Is Movement's Suckling / Untitled How Does It Feel? 12-inch and a copy of the very limited CD EP Light Of The World -- which features two early versions of Pattern Is Movement album tracks and the band covering The Smiths, David Bowie, and Beyoncé.

Bio:

Pattern Is Movement redefine what it means to return. Their self-titled fourth album is the story of what Christopher Ward and Andrew Thiboldeaux have seen in the six years since 2008's All Together: a new and shifting territory where a percussive primal heartbeat keeps time with the baroque melody of civilization. Counting among its touchstones everything from Drake, Fred Hammond, Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, Prince, Bollywood, Outkast, Springsteen, and Werner Herzog to peers like Bon Iver, Candy Claws, Beirut, and Thundercat, Pattern Is Movement unearths an entirely modern artifact right under our feet.

Founded in Philadelphia by Thiboldeaux and Ward, Pattern Is Movement has recorded a series of albums over the past decade - The (Im)possibility of Longing, Stowaway, and All Together - and have shifted in membership and in stylistic focus, eventually solidifying into a powerful duo: Thiboldeaux on Rhodes, synth, bass, and vocals, and Ward on drums. Deeply soulful and natively genre-defying, they toured extensively, joining bands like St. Vincent, The Roots, and Shudder to Think, before delving into Pattern Is Movement and, along with it, the brightest and darkest corners of composition, orchestration, and collaboration. Pattern Is Movement will be released on Hometapes on April 1, 2014
