Group Plays Sold Out Run Of Debut U.S. Shows

From the groups SXSW performance at the Spotify House: "The band's specialty is sleek midtempo 1970s-style funk, with scrubbing rhythm guitar and a steady, understated, in-the-pocket backbeat behind grooves that reveal the workings of their interlocking riffs.  Minor chords lent the songs a serious air; the presumed T and J and a woman all sang together, with short phrases reminiscent of disco-era Bee Gees." - New York Times
On the heels of two  sold-out NYC shows, six performances at SXSW and a sold-out show in Los Angeles on Monday night, London collective Jungle have announced they'll return to North America this June.  Kicking off on June 6 in Los Angeles at the El Rey Theatre the band will travel across North America ending the tour on June 19 in Philadelphia (full list of dates below).  Jungle will release a 12" EP this May on XL Recordings that includes "Busy Earning," "Platoon," and "The Heat," which will be followed by a debut album this summer.

Before heading to the states Jungle played their second ever London gig at the Village Underground to a sold-out crowd of 1,000 people.  With The Guardian claiming of the band's live performance: "This year's Disclosure, Jungle will destroy the 2014 festival circuit," and the NME noting that Jungle's shows were "fully justifying their billing as one of Britain's most promising new bands."

Based around a core musical duo known simply as 'J' and 'T' who expand to a thrilling seven piece live band (pictured above), Jungle make mesmeric, modern soul with true global appeal.

"Busy Earnin" is the groups third single. It's music video is directed by Oliver Hadlee Pearch and the band's own 'J', the same team that made the videos for Jungle's previous acclaimed singles, "Platoon" and "The Heat," which all have now been viewed over 4.9 million times between them.

"The one thing I'm sure of is that these Brits have some very, very catchy, funky tunes imbued with a side of soul." - The Daily Beast

"I couldn't have started it any better than with Jungle at the Spotify House. Their music is soulful with a groove that is undeniable. I've been a fan of their recorded work and was thrilled that they were even better live. Immediately ever band to follow had a lot to live up to." - KCRW

"Jungle, the most buzzed-about band at SXSW 2014...offered a warm reception to the band whose retro '70s soul sound with modern electric grooves immediately moved the crowd. Energetic but not excessively wild, Jungle played an excellent set considering this was their first year running around at SXSW, and the fact that they haven't been a band too long either."- Buzzbands.la
