Wild Beasts Share "Sweet Spot" From Present Tense, Out 2/25 On Domino

Wild Beasts are releasing their fourth record, Present Tense, on Feb. 25th via Domino, and while we count the days until it arrives, the band has decided to share another glimpse into the new world they've created. Masters of tone and texture, Present Tense has the band embracing a new set of tools and production techniques. Fans saw the breadth of their creative intrepidness with the first single, "Wanderlust," and now, they can see another side of the new record with "Sweet Spot." The song features the contrasting tenor and falsetto of Tom Fleming and Hayden Thorpe, and finds a perfect balance in the space between. Read an interview with them here.

" [...] Wild Beasts rid themselves of their guitars and figuratively cut strings with a mantra of bristling minimalism: "Don't confuse me with someone who gives a f*ck." - Pitchfork [Best New Track]

"The second that synth line bleeds in and the song shifts into the even darker second half could pinpoint the moment Wild Beasts went from a good band to a great band..." -Stereogum

"For the fourth album in a row, they've moved the goalposts, challenging themselves to apply their whooping idiosyncrasies to a new aesthetic framework. On Present Tense they've done so with such exquisite attention to detail, you can't help but submit to their advances" - Uncut, 9/10

"This intimate, intelligent album boasts that rarest quality in 21st century rock music: inimitability." - MOJO, ★★★★

"'Don't confuse me with someone who gives a f*ck / In your mother tongue, what's the verb to suck' is a strong frontrunner for the best couplet of 2014." -BlackBook
