HOTT MT Release Kat Kastle On White Iris Records

"HOTT MT feed pop melodies in the tradition of Seattle label Sublime

Frequencies through a Creation Records fog machine." - LA Weekly

Continuing with their White Label Series, White Iris is teaming up with
HOTT MT (Hour Of The Time Majesty Twelve) to release their Kat Kastle 7"
- available today on iTunes and limited edition hand-numberd vinyl. Queen
Ashi Dala's ethereal vocals stand at the forefront of both Kat Kastle &
Morning
, capturing the bands' eccentric personality while also nodding
to their spiritual figureheads. The A-side features a funky, danceable
baseline with demanding vocals that ask "What are you afraid of?!?",
while the B-side transitions to a soft, revealing sound with engaging
lyrics that confess "You frighten me when you talk about your dreams."

HOTT MT is a Los Angeles based collective that live and work in the
industrial section of Chinatown. Musically the group consider Thai
pop/ folk and shoegaze as their main sonic influences. HOTT MT
also considers the work of Joseph Campbell and William Cooper to
be integral to their philosophy and lyrical content; the latter being the
host of the Hour Of The Time radio show, which inspired the collectives'
name. The band is best known for their impromptu collaboration on the
song and video "Never Hate Again" with Flaming Lips' frontman Wayne
Coyne. After finding Coyne's address on google maps, the group traveled
20 hours by car to show up unannounced on his doorstep. The chance
meeting has lead to a number of collaborations including the recent cover
album of The Stone Roses debut full-length. In addition to The Lips, HOTT
MT have performed live with Bat For Lashes, Wavves, Frightened Rabbit,
Django Django, Robert DeLong, Ra Ra Riot, and the legendary Tony Clifton.
