Avant-garde creators Masa KawamuraAramique & Qanta Shimizu have always been on the cutting edge of technology & visuals. Lauded globally as innovators, their latest creation is a uniquely constructed and executed video for Cut Copy’s “We Are Explorers,” which premiered today with FastCompany.

The video features 3D-printed characters exploring the streets of Los Angeles, every frame of which has been created with stop-motion photography. A compelling adventure story, Kawamura & Aramique explain: “we wanted it to be tactile, to feel like a real adventure and felt we could accomplish this by creating a tangible character that we would shoot outside on location in every place.” Check out the “We Are Explorers” video HERE, and we encourage you to post & share!

Giving fans the opportunity to live their own “We Are Explorers” adventure story, BitTorrent is providing access to the 3D files so they can print them themselves & creative their own narratives of exploration. As Kawamura & Aramique elaborate, “Our goal with BitTorrent is to hand everything over to the public…our storyboards, stop-motion technical plans, 3D files for every figurine, and see what they do with it. Even if people just print the 8 figurines that make up the running sequence there’s so much they can do and so many places the story can go.”

Internationally renowned for their raucous live show, Cut Copy will make their way back stateside for a string ofnational tour dates with Jessy Lanza this spring! Full dates follow below:
