MUTOID MAN Confirms March West Coast Tour Dates

Following the unforeseen release of their debut LP, Helium Head, in late in 2013, MUTOID MANinstantly spread through the rock/indie/hardcore underground like a musical pandemic, infecting everyone in its path.

Following only three sporadic live performances in Brooklyn to date, MUTOID MAN now declare newly confirmed arrangements to attack the West Coast in the coming weeks. A six-city run between March 7th and 14th is now locked, bringing the trio to San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Santa Ana and Tempe on their way down to Austin to raid SXSW. Their prime objective in the land of brisket: invade MetalSucks' fourth annual South by South Death SXSW official showcase on March 14th, the rest of the bill including Animals as Leaders, After the Burial, Ringworm, Iron Reagan, Whores and East of the Wall.

MUTOID MAN Tour Dates:
3/07/2014 Sub-Mission Art Space - San Francisco, CA
3/08/2014 Che Cafe - San Diego, CA
3/09/2014 Vacation Vinyl - Los Angeles, CA (in-store, space limited)
3/10/2014 Constellation Room - Santa Ana, CA

MUTOID MAN is the lumbering rock juggernaut which embodies guitarist/vocalist Stephen Brodsky of Cave In, drummer Ben Koller of Converge and Saint Vitus Bar soundman Nick Cageao on bass, and the contagious battery of sonic decimation the unit delivers is nothing short of face-displacing. The energy these guysnaturally create when they jam-out is almost unspeakable. A jacked-up album firing on all cylinders as well as a few nitro tanks and rocket boosters opened to the max, Helium Head is like classic rock on bath salts and a case of energy bars, resonating with an awesome tone created by the band moving into a Brooklyn warehouse for nearly an entire year attaining the properly foundation-crumbling amplification. Helium Head was mixed by Andrew Schneider, mastered by Alan Douches and features cover art by Santos Illustration, and released on CD/LP/digital by Magic Bullet Records in November.

"Whatever demons have invaded these two men clearly aren't the kind that are easily exorcised, but the pair does its best, making Helium Head one of the most blistering yet complex records of the year." - Alarm Magazine

"Simply put, this is a tenacious unapologetic ripper of a record. The six tracks and lone cover included here are an adrenalized collection of Cave In's careening prog heft coupled with Converge's relentless drive. With no song crossing the three minute mark, nearly all tracks double as shots of aural adrenaline delivered right through the sternum. 4.5/5" - The PRP

"Mutoid Man plays superheavy stoner pop, and these songs are jam-packed with sugary melodies that sit on top of atomic-bomb-heavy guitars and are propelled by Koller's signature dexterous, over-the-top drum kit pummeling." - The Chicago Reader

"The songs stand as a testament to the members' facility with such compositional tools; an intimate familiarity bred by decades' worth of immersion, a level of exposure that allows them to turn what could easily become pretentious and showy into a singular whole, equally accesible and experimental, conceptually developed and frantic." - RVA Mag

"...quickfire bursts of hardcore-driven, psychedelic pop metal that somehow manages to combine unrelenting heaviness with pop hooks and a good dose of prog-rock madness thrown in for good measure." - Echoes And Dust
