Cut Copy are internationally renowned for their raucous live show. Having left crowds from Berlin to El Paso in a state of sweaty ecstasy during the first leg of their globe-spanning Free Your Mind tour, the band will make their way back stateside for a string of national dates this spring, including two sold out shows at New York’s Terminal 5, Washington, DC, Nashville, Los Angeles & more!
Supporting the band on the North American tour will be up & coming Canadian artiste Jessy Lanza, whose debut album Pull My Hair Back was described by Cut Copy founder Dan Whitford as one of his favorite records of 2013:“it’s a fantastic example of left-field futuristic pop, fusing R&B with electronic production by Jeremy Greenspan. It’s beautiful, but also tough. So I’m really excited to see her perform it live when we tour together next month.” Turkish Prison (an offshoot of Midnight Juggernauts) will take the helm as the official tour DJ.
To tide excited fans over until the tour kicks off, the band has just unleashed DFA’s Larry Gus’ take on their anthem,“We Are Explorers.” Whitford explained to Rolling Stone, where the remix premiered, “to me, this remix epitomizes everything that is incredible about Larry Gus. He is a master at collaging together obscure sounds and live percussion to create something magically evocative and new.” Listen to + share the “We Are Explorers” (Larry Gus Remix) HERE!
Cut Copy just released their highly anticipated fourth studio album, Free Your Mind, via Loma Vista/Modular. The follow-up to 2011’s GRAMMY-nominated Zonoscope, the new album invites fans a step closer into their world full of ecstatic peaks broken up by quiet moments of melancholy and beauty. Free Your Mind is now available via iTunesand other prominent digital & physical retailers.
