"It’s the kind of music the female leads in Sofia Coppola movies would make." - Stereogum
"This is synth-pop revisited, 1979-81 vintage." - Guardian UK
"soaring synthpop ... whose climbing chorus could very well whisk you away to the moon. But watch out, you may never want to come back." - Altered Zones
Danz, the voice and force behind the synth-fueled tunes of Computer Magic, says the project started out as a small one. Computer Magic’s modest beginning came as a DJ in New York City. After months of juggling school and work with no time to concentrate on writing music, the fledgling artist made a trek to her family home in Florida. Deep in the south she found the time and solace to concentrate on writing and recording music in her bedroom with just a laptop and some lyrics. Danz posted her hazy-pop creations online and the buzz began. In the months to follow, Danielle would return to New York and that initial buzz has since escalated into a resounding hum. Computer Magic’s Electronic Fences EP captures what the doe-eyed artist does best: sweet, wistful crooning accompanied by kinetic, poppy undertones. Surrounding itself in an air of innocence and longing. |
