The album’s lead single “Gun For A Tongue” captures Butterfly’s edgy mix of soaring pop-rock melodies and unflinchingly intimate lyrics, delivered with her trademark vocal dexterity.

BUTTERFLY was musical from a young age. She was born in the middle of a seven-daughter family to artistic and free-spirited parents--her father was in rock n’ roll bands and her mother a ballerina--who encouraged her and her sisters to follow their dreams. A tight unit, BUTTERFLY was raised with a nomadic upbringing, traveling across Australian outback with her family and picking up roots every few months. Not often finding other 11-year-old musicians to hang out with, BUTTERFLY learned how to play each instrument herself, a skill that she has continued to develop and use throughout her career. As a multi-instrumentalist, BUTTERFLY has played on many albums, including playing the drums on Mat Kearney’s song “Breathe In, Breathe Out” (the “Grey’s Anatomy” theme song), vocals on David Mead’s album Indiana. She recorded a duet with David Bowie of his song “Changes” for the film soundtrack for Shrek 2. ”BUTTERFLY’s own songs have been featured on the TV series “The Days,” “Wonderfalls,” “Spin City,” and “Charmed,” plus “Grey’s Anatomy” has featured three of her songs over the years, including most recently “A Bitter Song.”

Look for BUTTERFLY BOUCHER to tour throughout 2009 and beyond.
