Norway’s Progressive Metal visionaries, Madder Mortem, will release their second Peaceville Records album “Eight Ways” today in the US. “Eight Ways” is Madder Mortem’s fifth studio album, and the follow up to 2006’s “Desiderata”.
“Eight Ways” features 12 brand new tracks that the band recorded in their own studio out in the Norwegian countryside during the summer and fall of 2008, near their hometown of Hedmark. The band describes the result of the DIY effort as “a strong organic quality to both the songs and the sound. There is rage and romance. There is grave seriousness and tongue-in-cheek humor. Most of all, it is through and through Madder Mortem music.”
Madder Mortem was formed in 1997 in Hedmark, Norway. Since their beginning, the band has toured Europe with bands such as Opeth and played festivals all over the globe. Their music has been described as “organic” and “earthy”, a true testament to the thick green forests and crystalline lakes of Hedmark.
