Clear Plastic Masks' debut album out now to widespread critical acclaim

“The churning, galvanic, righteously messy surge and crash of 1960s rock is their heritage, full of loose ends and live wires; they’ve got firm roots without settling down in the slightest.”—The New York Times

“Nashville’s burgeoning rock ‘n’ roll music scene just got even better with the release of Clear Plastic Masks’ Being There.”—Associated Press

“…scorching garage rock with nothing to hide: just pummeling percussion, desperate yowls that recall Jack White before he became Jack White, and a whole lot of scrappy guitar fuzz that should please Black Lips worshipers.”—SPIN

“Ramshackle rock with a retro flair is the best way I can describe it. Yet even with its looseness, it makes quite an impact.”—KCRW

 “…bluesy, punk—and soul—informed rock ‘n’ roll…”—Nashville Scene

Being There, the full-length debut album from Clear Plastic Masks, is out now on Serpents & Snakes Records (iTunesAmazon). Already receiving widespread critical acclaim, the Associated Press praises, “righteous rock…songs shake with power and promise,” while SPIN calls the album, “…raw…” and “…brawling…” and KCRW asserts, “incredible…raucous rock, played loose and scrappy the way only a very talented group of musicians can.” Additionally, the official music video for the new single “So Real” recently premiered at Noisey and can now be viewed/embedded here.

After recently wrapping a series of dates supporting White Denim (which the LA Record called, “brilliant”) and performing at SXSW (which theAustin Chronicle called, “…with live-wire tenacity and a masterful sense of pacing: slow builds, breakdowns, rave-ups.”), the band is currently in the midst of a nationwide U.S. tour, including a series of dates supporting Spanish Gold. See below for complete details.

Formed in 2011 in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, CPM relocated to Nashville in 2012 where they recorded their debut album at The Bomb Shelter with Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Hurray for The Riff Raff). The 4-piece band is made up of Eddy DuQuesne (bass/keys), Charlie Garmendia (drums), Andrew Katz (guitar/keys/vocal) and Matt Menold (guitar/keys). In addition to CPM, the band-members recently launched a side-project with Alabama Shakes’ Brittany Howard, entitled Thunderbitch.
