Having posted “Bridges” on soundcloud and garnering more than half-a-million plays in just a couple of months, the brother/sister duo soon inked a deal with Capitol Records in late 2013, and released their self-titled and critically acclaimed debut EP in February of this year.
Described as “gorgeous pop music” by BILLBOARD Magazine, hailing their lead single “Bridges” as “startlingly good” and “stunning”,Idolator praised the pair’s body of work as “elegantly ethereal” with “songs that are lush and smoky, undulating and jittery,” comparing their sound to having a “distinctly Scandinavian feel.” Meanwhile VOGUE Magazine (US) exclaimed that Georgia Nott and big brother Caleb to be the “next best thing to come out of New Zealand since Lorde.” And VICE Magazine acknowledged the pair as “one of the quickest rising duos in electronic pop music at the moment.”
The stunning new video for “Bridges” was shot around the picturesque Castaic Lake in the Sierra Pelona Mountains of California by esteemed director Dori Oskowitz (Jack White/Cee Lo/Passion Pit/Raphael Saadiq). For the first time, fans are given the chance to see this mysterious musical duo up close and on screen in this cinematic music video that received it’s worldwide premiere today on VEVO.
Currently in the studio with Grammy Award winning producer Joel Little (Lorde/Pure Heroine), the band plan on releasing their debut album in North America this summer on Capitol Records, and in light of their recently sold out tour this spring, BROODS plan on announcing more tour dates and bigger venues very soon.
