Hey guys-

2013 has been a big year for the folks in Dear Blanca. In addition to performing a wide array of shows- including a gig at SXSW's Vulcan Army Showcase in Austin, Texas as well as a memorable set at this September's Jam Room Music Festival in Columbia, SC- the band also released their debut full-length LP, Talker- an album referred to as "a must-listen" (Pat Wall, Free-Times) and"what modern blues should sound like" (The Sound of Confusion).

Blanca fans have even more to look forward to in the new year as the band heads back to the studio in early December to begin recording their as-of-now untitled full-length second album. Details are scarce at this point, but you can expect to hear the newest sounds from Dear Blanca sometime in early 2014.

Blanca's Dylan Dickerson on what to expect, "We have had a fruitful hibernation recently; spending most of our time writing and rehearsing. Since recording Talker the band has evolved into a quartet. The new tunes we have been churning out are a little quieter and the rhythm section is really present. Marc, Dayne, and Cam really shape the groove of the songs and the parts they wrote for one song are reminiscent of Outkast's 'So Fresh, So Clean' and I think it rules. Also Dayne sings a good bit more on this record and she has been schooling me in the art of vocal harmonies. The goal is for this record to get weird in the best kinda way."

Watch Dear Blanca perform two new songs- "Noma" at 4/20's Dead Tree Festival and "Boulders" at the Jam Room Music Festival.
