Poolside "Slow Down" + Debut LP Due July 9th

In anticipation of Poolside's debut release Pacific Standard Time on Day & Night Recordings (World) and Different Recordings (Europe), the duo have released an mp3 andvideo for "Slow Down" on Pitchfork. It's so good that Pitchfork named it "Best New Track" too! The video, fittingly set in and next to a pool, straight up makes me want to leave the office and head south to the tropics. The outstanding debut LP, recorded entirely at their poolside studio in Los Angeles, drops July 9th - just in time to soundtrack your own pool party.

Filip Nikolic and Jeffrey Paradise are good friends who are inspired by California, mezcal, dancing, good food, and friends. Filip just co-produced the new Bonde do Role album with Diplo; Jeffrey used to be in the hardwave band the Calculators with Luke and Vito from the Rapture. Poolside's debut single "Do You Believe?" was charted by Todd Terje, Dimitri From Paris, and The Magician, and Dazed & Confused praised the song for its "pop-tinged disco, brimming with optimistic vocals and retro acid synths," while NME lauded its "supremely casual decadence." The band's cover of "Harvest Moon" has become a staple of James Murphy's DJ sets, and "Take Me Home," the final song on Poolside's debut album Pacific Standard Time, was the first track on Aeroplane's recent "In Flight Entertainment" compilation.
