Brooklyn Psych-Pop Duo Dynasty Electric will be releasing their new self-titled album on June 26 2012 via independant record label No Shame.

After spending some time in the recording studio in NYC earlier this year, the band continue to successfully fuse a unique blend electronic pop, garage rock, and trip-hop, crafting a compelling, retro-futuristic sound sound, laced with instrumental and lyrical hooks.

Their latest self-titled release (produced by notable British producer David Maurice, French Canadian producer Cayce, and includes collaborations with legendary artists DJ Logic and Ski Beatz)charts a genre-bending ride through the myriad worlds of pop. The album opens with the epic- psych-dub-jam "Oasis" and closes with an unforgetable electro-punk anthem "All This Time Turn It Up".

Lead singer Jenny Electrik is a powerful and sexy pop vocalist. Lyrically she sings of unconditional love,  breaking through boundaries, and freedom. Bandmate Seth Misterka plays guitar, sax, and keys on the album as well as making his hip-hop debut on the tracks "Jetplane" and "Nowhere to Hide".

The new album was largely written at the band's Brooklyn loft space, where they were hosting massive underground parties from 2003-2011.  "We kept the band going for years by turning our loft into an underground club.  We would throw a monthly party, where Dynasty Electric would be the headlining band, I would also be the DJ and sound guy, and Jenny would be the bartender and the run up on stage for our set!  It was hard, but it was fun, and it kept us afloat for years, " says Seth Misterka.

Employing a DIY approach when releasing their own albums, throwing their own parties, and organizing their own tours, the group steadily rose up through the ranks of the crowded Brooklyn scene, eventually coming to the attention of the music industry.  In 2010, hip hop mogul Damon Dash paired the duo with Ski Beatz to produce the band's third album "Golden Arrows" released in 2011.  The album was slated for release on Dash's BluRoc Records, but when the label repeatedly missed release dates, the band took matters into their own hands, and self-released it on Newsonic Records. The album earned rave reviews and the title track was picked up by Victoria's Secret for an ad campaign.    "We weren't just going to sit back and watch our album get shelved for no good reason, and I'm glad we didn't! "

In 2011 the band signed with New York label "No Shame" to produce a new album.  Simultaneously their Brooklyn loft space, which had nurtured the project for so many years, came to an end.  The group went to an old farm in Westport, Massachusetts, to finish writing and pre-production.  The songs "Wildcat" and "Eye Wide Open" were written in this time, and show a clear departure from the electro-punk and pop of the rest of the album.

They returned to New York in the fall of 2011 to complete the album at No Shame Studio in Manhattan.
The album's lead  music video "Eye Wide Open", directed by John Fitzgerald,  is now available on-line, generating considerable buzz on youtube in its first month.

To celebrate the release of the new album, Dynasty Electric is hosting  a Record Release Party on June 27 2012 at Glasslands.
