LAUNCH OF NEW MTV HIVE SERIES STOP/WATCH FEATURING

recording artists THE FLAMING LIPS and Viacom Music Group, which
includes MTV, VH1, CMT and Logo, today announced that Jackass starChris
Pontius, singer songwriter Jackson Browne, alternative rock
band Neon Trees, pop duo and O Music Award nominee Karmin and
others are set to join THE LIPS on the road and on the stage
in their quest to break the Guinness World Records® title for The Most Live
Concerts In 24 Hours (Multiple Cities) during the groundbreaking
and Webby Award winning O Music Awards,www.omusicawards.com, a digitally driven event that
celebrates and honors the artists, fans and innovators impacting digital music
culture. More than 31 million votes have been cast- the largest in O Music
Awards history.
Beginning June 27at 7:30pm ET, the O Music Awards will play
out across all Viacom Music & Logo Group screens and linear networks in the
form of the world's first 24-hour award show live stream via a historic and
hectic bus ride through the Mississippi Delta. Two-time O Music Award nominee
and multiple Grammy winners THE FLAMING LIPS will board a
vintage tour bus named "Endeavor" and zigzag across the region in an
attempt to break the world record currently held by Jay-Z. Along
the route and throughout the show, O Music Awards will feature a series of 8
concerts (one in each city) for fans to celebrate and cheer THE LIPS on
as they attempt to break the record.
Beginning today fans can buy THE FLAMING LIPS AND
HEADY FWENDS on physical CD and digitally via all digital retailers.
At each O Music Awards concert, an eclectic mix of artists
including Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Gary Clark
Jr., Hunter Hayes, GIVERS, Neon Indian, Grimes, New
Fumes and others will play a full set before The Flaming Lips arrive
on the bus to take the stage for a not-to-miss mini-set featuring many surprise
collaborations and guests. Tickets can be purchased through the individual
venues listed here. Additional talent confirmed for the bus and on
location in New Orleans include LOVELINE co-host Mike
Catherwood, Broadway star and singer Laura Bell Bundy, hip hop
artist Big Freedia, actress Alison Haislip, VH1

Partial proceeds from the show will be donated to VH1's Save
the Music Foundation. Can't get a ticket or make the show? No worries. The
entire show will be streamed live on OMusicAwards.com and accessible on all
platforms including mobile and tablets.
During the 24 hour live stream, 24 awards will be presented
to winners. Fans can vote now up until the show via OMusicAwards.com in a wide assortment of categories
that include Must Follow Artist on Twitter, Best Online
Concert Experience, Most Adorable Viral Star, Fan Army
FTW, Best Music App and Digital Genius Award.
In addition, the show will feature the premiere of the first
twelve episodes of STOP/WATCH, a sixty second online music series in which
artists have one minute flat to perform a complete song - with a countdown
clock running. The first dozen STOP/WATCH artists are Joseph Arthur, Carolina
Chocolate Drops, Citizen's Band, John Forte, The Hives, Rhett
Miller, Miracles of Modern Science, Peasant, Punch
Brothers, Saint Motel, P.T. Walkley and the Wombats.
As each clip is premiered it will take up residency on MTV HIVE, where more
STOP/WATCH episodes will be added every few weeks.
O Music Awards will live across all MTV, VH1 and CMT
screens. The central hub will be OMusicAwards.com, where fans can vote, toggle
between different camera views, as well as watch and share key show moments
across their social graphs. On the mobile front, fans will be able to watch the
entire show via the mobile web or the MTV News app. Throughout the course of
the live event, MTV, VH1, CMT, MTV2 and Palladia will be breaking in from
standard programming to provide updates from the road. In addition, each news
organization, including MTV News, MTV Hive, VH1 News and others, will be
providing up-to-the-minute coverage online and social platforms.
Through a series Mobile Units, Satellite uplink trucks, cell
phone transmission devices and state of the art production equipment, the
production workflow for the OMA's reaches new heights in production innovation.
We'll have two of our own 53 foot fully digital and high definition
mobile units - Nereus and Barrie on the ground. In addition, the bus will house
a NewTek TriCaster 855 to create a fully integrated feed and edit as needed.
To transmit while in the venues along the route as well as while driving,
LiveU, the cellular-based technology that bonds together multiple 3G and
4G connections for mobile broadcast-quality audio and
video uplink, will be supplying five LU70 transmission backpacks. The
multiple OMA signals will be fed from the individual concerts via satellites
and broadband to the site of the finale concert, New Orleans for editorial integrations
and on to Viacom's Operation Center in New York for encoding to the web,
wireless and mobile.
