“Specializes in richly atmospheric music laced with medieval folk elements and esoteric ethnic influences.”—New Yorker

“Blurring traditional baroque, Eastern-European, Middle-Eastern, North-African and Native-American music into ethereal soundscapes, Dead Can Dance creates an ethnic fusion that equally appeals to and unites gothic, chant and world-beat enthusiasts.” —The Chicago Tribune

Critically acclaimed duo Dead Can Dance are set to release their first studio album of new material on August 9 marking their first new recordings since 1996’sSpiritchaser. In support of the album, this summer principle members Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry will embark on a worldwide tour bringing them to four continents during an eight month period. Fans can expect live performances highlighting arrangements from decade’s worth of musical archives plus songs from their upcoming release. Please see dates below.

Perry and Gerrard began working on ideas and writing songs in the autumn of 2011 for the new album. Forming in Australia more than 30 years ago, Gerrard and Perry have created ten critically acclaimed pioneering albums including the classic Into The Labyrinthin 1993 and the 2005 retrospective MementoThe New York Times describes Dead Can Dance as “mixing elements of western medieval music, world-beat and synth –rocks magisterial sweep.” In the past six months, the band has released a series of four track EP’s via their website www.deadcandance.com.
