Everest Announce Neil Young Dates + Free MP3

Filled with lush guitar riffs and rich harmonies, Everest have unleashed a new track “Raking Me Over The Coals,” from their upcoming album Ownerless(out June 26th on ATO Records). The track premiered yesterday on Rolling Stone. “Raking Me Over The Coals” is the result of a collaboration between singer Russell Pollard and Gary Louris. “ Gary came over with his guitar and we set up a little writing workshop in my living room” Pollard explains. “It was January of 2011 in Los Angeles and it was cold, overcast, and Gary and I just so happened to be in a similar head space. Raking Me Over The Coals reflects how we were feeling that day. Questioning, heartbroken and battling the daily drag in order to ultimately, keep ourselves together and to keep going.”

Everest has also just unveiled a month long tour with Neil Young this fall. Back in 2010, the band was hand-selected by Young to accompany him on tour. This November, Everest will share the stage again with Neil, kicking off the tour in Seattle's Key Arena. Joining Neil Young and Everest on tour for select dates are Los Lobos and Patti Smith.

The band is also in the midst of their residency in Washington, D.C. in association with WRNR. On top of their weekly on-air visits to WRNR, the band is performing a series of dates making stops in Bowie, MD and Annapolis, MD. Everest will perform in New York City on June 25th in celebration of the album's release the following day, playing the new album in its entirety on the rooftop of Sleep No More's McKittrick Hotel. Everest will be performing the following night in Washington, D.C. for their album release party at LivingSocial's brand new hot spot, 918 f Street. Everest will hit the road with Alberta Cross on July 5th, beginning their tour at Lincoln Hall in Chicago.
