HAVE NOTS Announce US Tour with Big D and the Kids Table

BOSTON, MA – Hot off a UK/European tour, Bean-town punks HAVE NOTS are excited to announce a US tour supporting hometown friends Big D and the Kids Table this Fall. Kicking off in Buffalo, NY on September 20, the six-week tour winds down in Sayreville, NJ at Starland Ballroom on November 6, and includes shows in Chicago, Las Vegas, Orlando, Boston, and Brooklyn, NY. See all tour dates below.

“We’ve been trying to make this tour happen for a while, but logistically it just hasn’t worked out,” admits Have Nots drummer Steve Patton. “With Big D releasing a new record that harkens back to a more ska/punk sound, and our new record Proud just coming out, it seemed like the perfect time to do it, and we couldn’t be happier that the guys agreed to take us along! We’re both based in Boston, so we’ve been buddies for a while and musically we’ve all been fans of Big D for years. Hopefully our livers can handle hanging out with them for a month and a half.”

Heralded as one of Alternative Press100 Bands You Need To Know in 2011, Have Nots have been touring hard in support of their recently released sophomore record Proud. Since the album’s release in May on Paper + Plastick Records, Have Nots have taken their ska-influenced brand of punk rock on the road across the country with Street Dogs, as well as overseas on the band’s second tour of Europe and the UK. Recently premiering the video for the energetic first single and album title track “Proud” (http://youtu.be/JqZD6nxWmeU), critics have been praising the album, with MyOldKentuckyBlog commenting, “The band serves up a heady brew that’s equal parts Rancid and Operation Ivy, with a little chaser of Social D to carry it down the pipe all nice and smooth” and the band’s hometown paper the Boston Globe stating, “Simply put, this sophomore effort by Have Nots, a gang of Boston punks who like to mix a scally capful of ska in with their high-octane onslaught, roars out of the gate and rarely lets up.” Embodying a ska/punk sound that is rare these days, The Boston Phoenix concludes that Proud has “No gimmicks, no 'post-whatever' pretension, no accordion player or anything. But if you like punk rock, you will like this. F*ck, if you don’t like punk, maybe you’ll start to if you listen to the Nots’ four-star-worthy newest, Proud.”
