APPARAT RELEASES NEW VIDEO FOR “BLACK WATER” NEW ALBUM THE DEVILS WALK OUT SEPTEMBER 27TH
Apparat has a brand new video for the song “Black Water”. The video, directed by Ben Reed, looks at ornately stacked sculptures of stuff that come to life in the abandoned fields and parking lots that sit at the edge of civilization. “Black Water” is available digitally now as a single track download and is taken from the highly anticipated forthcoming album The Devil’s Walk out on September 27th. The track caused quite a stir on the internet when it was announced, picking up nearly 100,000 spins on SoundCloud alone.
The album, conceived during a trip to Mexico, was recorded in Sascha’s Berlin studio. With Patrick “Nackt” Christensen (of Warren Suicide) on board as a co-producer they re-worked material already recorded in Mexico, taking it in a new and more esoteric direction, eventually arriving at the majestic finished product that is ‘The Devil’s Walk’.
It is safe to say that any electronic music enthusiast will have come across Apparat, A.K.A the Berlin artist Sascha Ring, at some point. Whether it be via the releases of his first three albums under Apparat, through the music of electronic supergroup Moderat, through his collaborations with other music greats such as Ellen Allien, or at one of his epic live club or festival performances, Sascha’s restless presence within the field of electronic music is unavoidable and elementary to the evolution of the genre.
