"a Clinic-meets-Radiohead feel, with a penchant for deliberate, stuttery rhythms,
electronic warbles and lush orchestral moments." -- MTV Hive
"...this marvelous group that has produced one of the most original sounds
I've heard in years" -- Stereo Subversion
"Jungle Habits offers everything from freak folk to electro-pop, and does so
in an incredibly undeniable and compelling manner" -- Redefine
Young Circles' debut LP Jungle Habits is out today, and they are excited to announce the album is available for free download today only at YoungCircles.com. The album is also streaming all week at Spinner andRedefine; the latter also includes a track-by-track breakdown by singer/multi-instrumentalist Jordy Asher. Earlier this week, Filter Magazine premiered the track "Asthmatic", now available for posting.
The debut full-length comes at the heels of the release of Bones EP earlier this year. Where the Bones EP hits fiercely from the start, with searing feedback and stormy beats, Jungle Habits is all about the hypnotic build in force. The first half of the album is introspective and emotionally raw, but as intensity builds, the band's focus turns outwards; by the time you reach "2012," a danceable end-of-the-world anthem, the album has exploded into something celebratory and carefree.
The band recently finished a hugely successful NYC run, and played a hometown release party at Miami's Vagabond last Friday. Young Circles is currently plotting a fall tour in support of Jungle Habits and is already back in the studio, workshopping new tracks. Tour dates will be announced shortly.
