Hardest-working band in show biz history gearing up for multiple debaucheries |
Not content with staging the coolest party in history (the GWAR-B-Q), or playing on the most awesome tour of the fall (The Return of the World Maggot Tour), GWAR and Slave Pit Inc. have announced the return of last year's most ridiculous event, The Crack-a-Thon, and have posted an online teaser of their Kickstarter-funded animation project, "The Blood Vomits". Last year's Crack-a-Thon was an attempt by GWAR lead singer Oderus Urungus to raise funds for his humungous drug-habit, and raise awareness for GWAR's fledgling internet TV station, GWAR.tv. Despite a slew of celebrity guests, including Andrew W.K., both efforts proved to be a "miserable failure", with Urungus actually smoking the money, and GWAR.tv disappearing from the internet after the webmaster was "eaten by a crack-crazed penguin". Never one to be daunted by his repeated failures, Urungus is back with an entirely new schtick... "Screw a bunch of crappy guests...even if they were great, did it for free, and blew me in the bathroom after the show," said Urungus. "This year I am presenting a special Spoken Turdperformance, where those humans lucky enough to get in will be treated to me droning on about any number of asinine subjects until I foam at the mouth and fall over backwards...I don't care if you think it's funny or not...you WILL laugh!" Like last year, the Crack-a-Thon will be held at the MF Gallery, in Brooklyn, New York, on Sep. 2nd and 3rd. There will be two performances per night, at 8 and 11, and tickets are available at www.mfgallery.net/CRACK11/ "We have been jacking our fans with every conceivable way the internet can provide to get money out of people...so fuck it, this time it's on me...this is our chance to give something back to the community besides AIDS," said Urungus. "What is Spoken Turd? Me talking shit, of course!" In other GWAR news, the producers of "The Blood Vomits", Slave Pit's Kickstarter-funded animated project, today announced the posting of a special teaser of the project, which is nearing completion at Slave Pit Studios. "The episode is looking great. The fans really responded to our Kickstarter campaign, and the guys are working their asses off to deliver an amazing product," said Slave Pit spokesman Dave Brockie. "But to whet your appetite, we got together a little taste...a taste of "Blood Vomit"!" So check out the Blood Vomit teaser at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObHYYuFGPYA Meanwhile the GWAR-B-Q is getting crazier everyday...look for a HUGE update of all things GWAR-B-Q on Monday!
