Spin.com have anointed The Airborne Toxic Event as the site's "Artist Of The Day," while the band announced a North American tour with the Fratellis. These announcements come two days after the band wowed the audience at the Pemberton Festival. USA Today said about the Festival performance, that the band..."played a blistering set of majestic viola-enhanced anthemic rock that lived up to the band's advance hype."
The Fratellis dates which start September 1 in Cleveland, are additional to other band dates including July 31 at the New York's Mercury Lounge and August 7 at the El Rey in the band's hometown Los Angeles. The band is touring in support their eponymous debut album on August 5 on Majordomo. The album is available for pre-order through iTunes today. Spin.com says of the album, "A tad grimy and wholly gimmick free, Los Angeles' the Airborne Toxic Event sport fuzzed out six-strings and danceable Franz Ferdinand-like grooves on their self-titled debut."
