Although The Glass are world renowned for genre busting 12” vinyl releases on dance labels like Fine Records and
Plant music, Couples Therapy is their first proper CD release. A seven song EP, recorded in Manhattan, Brooklyn and
Woodstock New York, this disc goes from the dance floor to the bedroom and back again with a unique blend of New
York Punk, Old School Rave, Hip-Hop, Indie and Madchester. If the EP cover art has anything to do with the music
inside, Couples Therapy seems to be very much in tune with current themes in contemporary America (f**king or
fighting?)
From the raucous disco of “Mad At You” to the tripped out vibe of “Green Leaves” (co produced by Depeche Mode
producers Andrew Phillpot and Christian Eigner), from the drug-fueled “Come Alive” to the indie crunk of “Try Some
More”, The Glass use a blend of electronics, instrumentation and classic songwriting to make dance music that
endeavors to reach beyond the bassline, all the while maintaining a sense of beauty and the beat!
The Glass are constantly touring either as a full band, DJ’s or as a Soundsystem/Live PA…….
Be ready to check in for Therapy!!!
Since The Glass released their first single “Won’t Bother Me” in 2004 on Fine/Four Music in Europe, the band has
continued to receive rave reviews in the press, meanwhile turning DJs into fans, and strangers into supporters. They
went on to release their second single “Hear The Music” which was remixed by Mylo and the band have played with
CSS, Kaiser Chiefs, Shy Child, The Pipettes, The Bravery, The Go! Team, Whitey, Mylo, The Glimmers, Arthur Baker,
DJ Hell and many more.
The Glass is comprised of Dominique Keegan (vocals, guitars) and Glen Brady (on programming, vocals, keys and
samples). Both, originally from Dublin, have been working as DJs since the 90s: Dominique at his own Plant bar and
Plant parties in New York and Glen (aka DJ Wool) as a fixture on the Irish dance music scene and as a DMC champion.
Glen, who moved to New York in 2001, is also an accomplished producer whose credits include such diverse artists as
R.E.M., INXS and Timo Mass. Together, the duo also mixed and compiled ‘The Sound of Young New York’ compilations.
Dominique and Glen formed The Glass in 2003, and since then have been featured on over 20 compilations, including
John Digweed’s FABRIC 20 mix and Dave Seaman’s Renaissance mix, and released four 12”s.
They’ve played live in Berlin, Copenhagen, Paris, Rennes, London, Leeds, Munich, LA, San Francisco, Miami, DC, Boston
& Toronto. Additionally, the Glass have been featured on albums by 2020 Soundsystem, Rinocerose, and Filur. The
Rinocerose track ‘Stop It’ feat. The Glass recently featured in an episode of C.S.I. Miami. The Glass perform live as a full
3 piece band with bass player, and as DJs and a Soundsystem, using turntables, synths and vocals to create an exciting
performance designed for clubs and dance venues. They are off for another tour in Europe, the last one in Decmeber
included stellar performances at Back 2 Basics’ 15 Year Anniversary (with 2020 Soundsystem & Bez from Happy Mondays)
and at Transmusicales festival’s main stage in Brittany, France. They hold down a weekly Saturday night party in New
York at 200 Orchard where they often play live and will be doing dates in the US in August and September and the fall.
