In a world ruled by fabricated pop music, reality TV talent and flavor-of-the-minute hipster bands, it's rare to find an act that exudes the essence of rock while maintaining integrity and original thought. But every so often, a band comes along that pushes boundaries and defies the monotonous mainstream standard. One such band currently electrifying the underground punk scene with their brash brand of unique sci-fi infused rock is TURBOGEIST.
TURBOGEIST are bringing that brand of rock to the States beginning tomorrow night in Brooklyn, New York. The band will be touring in support of their new EP Sheen, which is available on Spinefarm Records and is available at all shows. The tour will take the band across the country and wind up back on the East Coast October 11th in Nutley, New Jersey. The Los Angeles stop of the tour sees TURBOGEIST playing alongside The Dandy Warhols.
Like many before them, TURBOGEIST were born of two friends, Jimmy and Luis, who were jamming together for kicks while killing time in their hometown of London. With music the dominant factor in both their lives, they soon reached a point where they wanted to take it to the next level, and in 2010 they recruited James on bass.
While genres fade in and out of fashion, one thing remains true: original and innovative music prevails at the end of the day. And if there's ever a time for a musical revolution, it's now, and that revolution is TURBOGEIST.
