Chicago footwork producer DJ Spinn turns in a jittery rework
of The Presets’ latest single, ‘Ghosts’, transforming it from a bouncing
pirate-pop track to a skittering, deep-into-the-night juke cut.
The Presets are about to embark on a headlining tour across the United States. With supports announced yesterday, including YACHT, Strange Talk, Gigamesh and Flight Facilities, and a brand new live show that will blow audiences away, this is one of Fall’s don’t-miss shows.
The Preset’s ‘PACIFICA’ is now available in the US via Casablanca Records.

“From word one to the closing synth note signifying The End, Pacifica is a literary and musical sensation worthy of true scholarly attention.” – Consequence of Sound
“One of the best things to happen to modern music.” – LA Music Blog
Pacifica sees The Presets boldly venture into new, uncharted musical territories. Traversing both light and shade in energy and emotion, the album was produced by the band - Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes - and mixed in Los Angeles with Tony Hoffer.
In Australia initial critical acclaim for Pacifica is nothing short of staggering, debuting at #3 on the Australian charts (and peaking at #2 on the iTunes charts):
"One of the year's most exciting, mainstream-shaking statements." ★★★★½ Herald Sun
“The list of things the Presets can't do is getting smaller by the day; the tally of successes, on the other hand, keeps expanding.”★★★★ Sydney Morning Herald,
"The Presets were always two steps ahead of the pack. Now they’ve broken off and started their own race." The Vine
"Pacifica is a deceptively deep, rich surprise package" ★★★★ Rolling Stone (Australia)
"An album of the year contender" Daily Telegraph

It’s been over four years since The Presets captured the world’s imagination with their blitzkrieg of an album, the sophomore Apocalypso. Spawning five hit singles and exceeding Triple Platinum sales in Australia, Apocalypso set dizzying new heights for dance music in Australia. The single My People stayed in the ARIA charts for over 75 weeks, making it the longest charting Australian single in ARIA chart history.
The Presets took out six ARIA and ARIA artisan awards - the Australian equivalent to the Grammys - (including Album of The Year - the first electronic band to do so, Best Group, and Best Dance Release) at the 2008 ARIA Awards.
The following year The Presets were awarded Australian Songwriters of The Year at the APRA Awards and again Best Dance release at the ARIAs for Talk Like That. Their last Australian tour saw them play to over 70,000 people.
