CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED HEARTS EP OUT NOW

"With 'Wonderchamber'...each element is fully defined and three-dimensional — every syllable, every note stretched to its full potential, adding an irresistible and disturbing brightness to the "vibrant hell" being described."
SPIN

“[‘Baby Cops’] is unabashed late-night loft music with a watery futuro groove, lyrics about candlestick battles and a bouncy beat steeped in impeccable production.”

PSYCHOBUILDINGS release Hearts (Remixes) today via WonderSound Records. The Remixes EP follows the recent release and success of theHearts EP (July 2012), and features remixes from Wool, AIMES, Discmann & Sixtraxx, Peter Wade, HedNorton's Touch, F.r.a.c.t.a.l, and The Statue of David. Full track listing is below.

PSYCHOBUILDINGS is a thrilling electronic dance rock collective from New York City.  Fronted by the electrifying singer, dancer, and artist Peter LaBier, the band has been independently releasing music and performing since early 2010. After releasing only six songs, PSYCHOBUILDINGS received attention from most major national music blogs, including Pitchfork, Stereogum, SPIN, and Brooklyn Vegan. Fader Magazine asserted that PSYCHOBUILDINGS was "made for success" (Hockley-Smith, 2010).

PSYCHOBUILDINGS have several upcoming NYC performances scheduled, including a set at 285 Kent on September 6th with Grand Resort and Life Size Maps (8pm) and a set at Grand Victory on September 7th with Steel Phantoms (7:30pm). PSYCHOBUILDINGS' live performance pairs percussive vocal deliveries with angular and spasmodic dance moves reminiscent of James Brown, Michael Jackson, and David Byrne. To preview a PSYCHOBUILDINGS live show, you can watch the band perform “No Man’s Land” fromPsychobuildings on Pitchfork’s Tunnelvision.

The band is currently in the studio working on their first full length with producer Peter Wade (MNDR, Jennifer Lopez, Melanie Fiona).

“Psychobuildings steal some disco signposts and flip them backwards so you think you're on your way to a strobe-lit dancefloor but instead you wake up in a poppy field a few hours later with only vague memories of sequenced synth stabs and someone doing a sick Robert Smith via Joe Strummer croon, and about three cubic tons of weed smoke hovering like a storm cloud over everything.”
IMPOSE MAGAZINE

“It’s funny because we were just thinking about what it would’ve sounded like if Suicide had been produced by Nile Rodgers, like super crisp and clear and still possibly insane but brain patterns completely legible. So now that you’re thinking about that too, here is Brooklyn’s Psychobuildings."
THE FADER

“Rather than invoking the chart-busting high-drama of Eurythmics' ilk mind, [Peter LaBier] opts for a dancefloor dynamic that sounds like a late Eighties 'jackin'-house style remix you'd get on the B-side to a David Byrne and Robert Smith collaborative single, probably recorded for an AIDS charity.”
NME

“Let’s imagine that Talking Heads was female and The Clash was male and they had a child she never told him about. Like, “Oh hey The Clash. This is Psychobuildings, your child. Sorry about all the weird samples, I had an affair with Kraftwerk when he was very young.”
