Karlie Bruce LIVE in NYC Tonight, NYLON Unveils MP3, Debut LP Out Now!

CD Release Show TONIGHT @ La Sala in Brooklyn, 9pm!

Australian folk-rock chanteuse Karlie Bruce has already made a splash in the US and abroad. With a background that is as dynamic as her work, she is a back-up singer for NYC’s 17-piece disco band Escort, has opened for renowned pianist Brad Mehldau and graced the stage of New York’s esteemed Carnegie Hall alongside jazz luminaries Matt Wilson and Larry Goldings.

A soul-stirring journey of love and loss, Karlie Bruce’s debut album Paperback Loverwas released digitally this Tuesday, September 4th. Today, she has released album track “The Tulip” a song that weaves an unsettling tale of love, future, and the unknown, set to a country lullaby guitar riff and drawling drums. Check it out where it premiered as a free MP3 download with NYLON or HERE. Feel free to post & share!

Paperback Lover opens with the title track wrapped in dusky, vibrato guitar notes and the splash and roll of half-timed drums looking back on a relationship gone awry. In noir style, “Neon Lights” is a melancholic song that builds to a dramatic climax of plucked guitars and lush string arrangements.

Karlie Bruce will premiere Paperback Lover LIVE with an intimate performance TONIGHT September 6th @ La Sala, joined by Chris Parrello on guitar (Things I Wonder), Brian Chase on drums (Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and Hagar Ben-Ari on bass (Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings). If you’re in NYC, don’t miss the band’s compelling live show!
