ENSIFERUM: Unsung Heroes Streaming In Its Entirety At Guitar World

Unsung Heroes, the latest studio offering from Finnish sword-wielding, folk metal merchants, ENSIFERUM, will be streaming in full through the weekend courtesy of Guitar World in celebration of its official North American unveiling on Tuesday, September 18 through Spinefarm Records U.S.

Already unleashed in Europe, Unsung Heroes was produced by Hiili Hiilesmaa (HIM, Sentenced, Apocalyptica), and features artwork by Kristian Wahlin, as well as a medley of special guests including members of Die Apokalyptischen Reiter plus legendary Finnish singer/actor, Vesa-Matti Loiri.

“…Mount the longboats, light the torches, and prepare for battle,” warns Metal Injection while Stereokiller boasts: “This is nothing short of amazing, beautiful in every way possible.” Elaborates Blistering in an 8/10 review: “ENSIFERUM weren't necessarily the first band out of the epic/folk gate, but they're probably the best… One jaunt through 2009's thoroughly captivating From Afar supports that notion, as the Finns were able to brandish a mighty sonic sword that kept the speed on 10, the jovial acoustics 'a hustling, and above all else, managed to bring a sort of mild sophistication to a style that is usually anything but. Essentially, ENSIFERUM doesn't play the stupid, folk metal game, and on Unsung Heroes, they manage to stay the course with sterling results.”

Says bassist/vocalist Sami Hinkka: "Greeting to our fellow warriors of North America! We are proud to announce that our latest album called Unsung Heroes will be released next week but you can listen to it in advance here at Guitar World. So now it's not time to shred like Yngwie but it is time to grab your blade, rush the battlefield and shout, ‘IN MY SWORD I TRUST!’"

Raise your mead horns, North America, and honor Unsung Heroes at THIS LOCATION.

And if you missed it, ENSIFERUM unleashed a video for the track “In My Sword I Trust.” The heroic clip was shot in Wrocklaw, Poland and directed by Rafal Szermanowicz of Grupa#13. Peep the video as well as behind-the-scenes footage HERE.
