Earlimart's new single, "10 Years"

Plus new tour dates, including a mini-tour of Texas Record stores

Earlimart

Earlimart's System Preferences is a lush and lovely soundtrack for a sad, beautiful world. It's an album that touches on disillusionment with and acceptance of technology, complex relationships, and lost weekends.  The Los Angeles-based duo of Aaron Espinoza and Ariana Murray retain tones and textures familiar to fans of the band's six previous albums of whispering and stomping indie rock, but they've grown as songwriters and producers. From familiar sonic waters they embark on a journey that allows them to get lost -- with the novel excitement that entails. System Preferences is their sonic dead reckoning resulting in a joyous return to the band's Californian port of call.

System Preferences sounds like Earlimart without sounding like any other Earlimart album. It will be released on the band's own label, The Ship, digitally on Sept. 18 and Oct. 16 on CD and LP.

Since their prior release Hymn and Her in 2008, Earlimart has collaborated with members of Grandaddy for the 2010 release of Admiral Radley's I Heart California, which was followed by headlining tours of the U.S. and Japan, as well as a support tour with pals Band Of Horses. Espinoza and Murray have also kept busy in the Ship studio, composing for film and other various TV projects.  Meanwhile, Espinoza has continued to work on his studio tan, producing records for artists Ben Gibbard, The Henry Clay People, Port O'Brien and others
