“Almost every time Gerrard enters, the skies open. She’s
still the Siren from Mars, reason alone for Dead Can Dance fans to celebrate”.
— Chicago Tribune
“Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard revive the lush ambience of their prime in a blend of global sounds, trip-hop beats, mysticism and the alternating charms of his darker vocals and her rapturous singing.” —USA Today
“It's the kind of impact and elegance that can be hard to put into words, but searching for a perfect expression is arguably exactly what Dead Can Dance have always strived to achieve.” —Pitchfork
“The new album easily follows in the footsteps of its ancestors, with maybe an extra ear towards the epical, which is probably only natural for such a triumphant reunion. Thankfully, what once seemed finished has now risen in spectacular fashion.” —KCRW

Critically acclaimed duo Dead Can Dance recently
signed to [PIAS] America release Anastasis out
now. The album marks their first new recording since1996’s Spiritchaser.
In support of the album, Lisa Gerrard and Brendan
Perry have taken to the road on a worldwide tour which began on August
9. The tour marks the bands first live shows since their sold out 2005 tour and
will bring them to four continents during an eight month period. Fans can
expect live performances highlighting arrangements from decade’s worth of
musical archives plus songs from their upcoming release.
Perry and Gerrard began working on the album in the autumn of 2011. Earlier this year Perry said of the sessions at Ireland’s Quivy Studios, “Lisa and myself are genuinely excited to be working together again in the studio.”
Forming in Australia more than 30 years ago, Gerrard and Perry have created ten critically acclaimed albums including the classic Into The Labyrinth in 1993 and the retrospective Memento in 2005. The New York Times describes Dead Can Dance as “mixing elements of western medieval music, world-beat and synth-rocks magisterial sweep.”
