Press Praise for The Tough Shits
One of the best collections of jangly guitar pop to come out in 2012.
The Chicago Reader

Inhabiting a musical world that seems equally informed by rootsy rock ‘n’ roll, earnest pop-punk, and the clean, tight, math-rock guitar interplay of post-Dischord indie pop, the band ties all those influences into a debut LP that surprises with how well they work together. It helps that the Tough Shits have a knack for witty lyrics and familiar pop hooks, crafting what amounts to no-nonsense, everyman music with heart and brains.
Get Bent

Not many bands have been able to master walking the fine line between debauchery and sensitivity the way the Replacements did in their heyday but Tough Shits have done it on their first album.
Finest Kiss

The spirit here may be wild, abrasive, and ramshackle, but the band's jangly pop-punk numbers are expertly polished, filled with addictive and impossible-to-shake candy-eared hooks and melodies.
The Philly band's eponymous debut—out now on Burger Records—is not only one of 2012's best albums, but it's aslo one of the year's most fun and enjoyable, in large part, because of its lyrics...the songs come off as incredibly refreshing because of how prominent, carefully crafted, and clear the lyrics are.
Everybody Taste

I've been to plenty of their shows and loved the raw rock'n'roll energy they pumped out, now there is the physical testament to that sound...overall the record sounds great...In short the album is 12 hook filled, well crafted garage punk tunes that demand a second play. This is the perfect thing to listen to now that the weather is getting nicer, it's a summer party record without a doubt.
Repo Records

Can’t get enough of this record right now.
Pop Headwound

At first listen, all I can really say is wow...All in all, this is a great album for anyone who likes catchy pop/rock, or fans of real musicians who don't take themselves too seriously.

More on The Tough Shits
All the Tough Shits were born at a very young age. The lineup is currently Mark Banfill (vocals and guitar), John Heald (guitar and vocals), James Horn (drums and vocals) and Nick Carlisi (bass, keyboards and vocals).  They formed a band in the late 2000s and quickly rocketed to quasi-fame as South Philadelphia's favorite weirdo rock band. Their self-titled release is their first official full-length and clocking at 29 minutes is a concise yet varied bag of imaginative and unforgettable hits. You can find them always in the northeast US or on tour somewhere else.
