Today sees the release of In My Mind, I Am Free, the new album from Brooklyn’s electronic/dream pop duo Blue Foundation, who is self-releasing the album through their own imprint, Dead People’s Choice Records. The band is also giving away “Fundamental,” one of the stand-out tracks from the album, over at MTV Hive.
Blue Foundation was founded in 2000 by producer/singer Tobias Wilner. Their lineup consists of Wilner (producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist) and Bo Rande (multi-instrumentalist). Best known for their songs “Eyes on Fire” (certified double platinum in the US) from the “Twilight” saga, and “Sweep” from Michael Mann's “Miami Vice,” the band released their first 7" via Moshi Moshi Records and their first, self-titled debut album was released shortly thereafter.
Over the past several years Blue Foundation has expanded their audience, embracing both the underground and the alternative mainstream. Along with the “Twilight” saga and “Miami Vice,” Blue Foundation's music has been featured on various TV series, including "The O.C.," "So You Think You Can Dance," "CSI:Miami," and "The Cleveland Show."
